Welcome to \u201cBoys to Men\u201d<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Boys to Men Program (B2M) is a free mentoring program geared toward using faith, sports, and other activities to help prepare young men for successful futures. The B2M initiative is an outreach extension of Abundant Kingdom Ministries (AKM), a not-for-profit Ministry Corporation, which partners with other Churches and Organizations to help direct boys on their journey to manhood.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why is There a Need? <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In our world today, boys of all cultures and economic statuses face so many difficult situations on their way to becoming a man. Many boys have negative examples of masculinity and far too few positive role models to emulate. Such things as gangs, drugs, and careless lifestyles are just a few of the harmful influences.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Statistics tell us that divorce rates are over 50%. Over 40% of families are led by single parents with Mom as the head of the household. Organizations like B2M are needed in our society to help show boys how to become respectable men.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Mission of B2M<\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Our Vision is to use mentors to teach and encourage boys to become Men of integrity. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The B2M program has 3 main goals:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Offer support to fulfill dreams for the future (Personal growth)   <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Teach the concept of helping others (Community Involvement)    <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Provide guidance to make good decisions in relationships (Teamwork and leadership)  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The B2M programs have 3 main components:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Sports and activities for the body and building relationships   <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Outreach to help others while growing themselves  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Religious Faith to build spiritual growth<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Programs and Activities  <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The following list of activities and programs proposed to support boys to become men. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  • Sports activities \u2013 basketball, football, baseball, bowling, fishing etc. <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
      \n
    • Talk and teaching sessions – such as Day Field trips. <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
        \n
      • Movie outings <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
          \n
        • Religious meetings centered on teaching moral character.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
            \n
          • Group dining activities <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
              \n
            • Community Service activities<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
                \n
              • Fundraisers (Proceeds benefit B2M expenses only) <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

                     <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

                Program Background<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

                \u201cIn the beginning\u201d<\/em> Boys\u00a0to Men Sports & Mentoring Camp
                Boys to Men started as a one-time overnight sports camp for boys. The response was so great from the boys and the community that the program has evolved into activities with sports and mentoring sessions throughout the year. The B2M program has helped many boys since its inception.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

                Plans and Responsibilities<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

                It is true that it takes a village to raise a child. <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

                     B2M \u2013 plans to:  <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

                  \n
                • Introduce men of outstanding character to each young man. <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
                    \n
                  • Have B2M events to enhance the lives of young men.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
                      \n
                    • Support the family and the child (boys)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

                      The Mentor is responsible for: \u00a0<\/mark><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

                        \n
                      • Being a good role model for the young men to follow<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
                          \n
                        • Give precious time to events to nurture the boy\u2019s wellbeing. <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
                            \n
                          • Mentor with the understanding that B2M does not replace parental guidance and family leadership.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
                              \n
                            • Adhere to strict AKM youth interaction guidelines. <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

                              \u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 The Parent or Guardian is Responsible for:\u00a0<\/mark><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

                              • \u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Ensuring that your child is available for events including providing a nominal fee when required<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
                                  \n
                                • \u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Continued support of activities such as fundraising<\/strong>,\u00a0participation, etc.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
                                    \n
                                  • \u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Attend some mandatory B2M events and meetings\u00a0with the child<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
                                      \n
                                    • \u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Sign forms of consent and liability waivers\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

                                      <\/p>\n\n\n\n

                                      Many Students across the community have received\u00a0School Backpacks full of School Supplies\u00a0through the Boys to Men. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
